3 Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 99 near 7th Standard Road

All three occupants of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.

Bakersfield, CA. – Three people were killed in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning in Bakersfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 12:44 a.m. on Highway 99 north of 7th Standard Road.

A white Honda Accord was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on Highway 99 when it collided with a white BMW 530i and a white Chevrolet Colorado.

The Honda caught fire after the collision.

All three occupants of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and one other occupant of the BMW were hospitalized with major injuries.

The two occupants in the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries.

More details on the collision were not available.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
