A vehicle traveling north on SR 51 was reportedly slowing down due to an engine problem when it was struck by a pickup truck

Phoenix, AZ. – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The wreck happened on State Route 51 on Wednesday, August 6.
A vehicle traveling north on SR 51 was reportedly slowing down due to an engine problem when it was struck by a pickup truck.
Shortly after, the truck was hit by a GMC Terrain and the impact caused the GMC to roll multiple times.
Two people riding in the GMC were hospitalized with major injuries.
One of the patients was in critical condition.
Northbound SR 51 was temporarily shut down following the incident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
