Santa Barbara, CA. – Two employees were hospitalized after a jet bridge collapsed Tuesday morning at the Santa Barbara Airport, authorities reported.
The incident was reported around 9:25 a.m. while crews were conducting maintenance on the bridge.
The bridge is used to transport passengers from the terminal to the plane.
At the time of the accident, the bridge was parked at Gate Two and did not have passengers on it.
The Santa Barbara Fire Department and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
Two workers were transported by the firefighters to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident did not affect the operations of the airport.
An investigation is ongoing.
