, CA.- A teenager was hospitalized with major injuries after being hit by a vehicle while riding on an electric motorcycle in the Black Mountain Ranch neighborhood of San Diego on Sunday night.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident took place in the area of Babcock Street at Paseo Del at about 9:20 p.m. August 10.

According to police, a Toyota pickup truck was traveling northbound on Babcock Street when it tried to make a left turn at Paseo Del and hit a southbound motorcyclist.

The rider, a 13-year-old girl, was transported with a fractured right femur.

The driver of the pickup, a 16-year-old boy, stayed at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.

Police reported that the boy failed to yield to the right of way.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating the accident.
