, CA. – A 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash that happened Sunday evening in Anaheim, authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. near East North Street and North Topeka Street.

Investigators said the boy was riding an e-bike in the area when he was struck by a Honda sedan.

Police believe the driver ran a stop sign and continued driving for about a block after the collision, before fleeing on foot.

The boy was hospitalized with a broken leg and bruises.

Police officers are searching for the driver and an unknown number of passengers who were in the vehicle.

The car acquired front-end damage and a smashed windshield and ended up against a parked vehicle.
