1 Killed, 5 Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 85 near Narramore Road in Buckeye

Buckeye, Ariz. – One person and five others, including three juveniles injured in wrong-way crash on State Route 85 in Buckeye Wednesday night.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the incident happened at around 10 p.m. on Highway 85 near Narramore Road.

One of the vehicles involved was driving wrong-way when it collided with a second vehicle.

One person inside a black vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Five people in the other car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The northbound lanes of SR 85 were shut down at milepost 147 during the on-scene investigation. They have since been reopened.

The identities of the victims were released pending notification of the next of kin.

An investigation is underway.
