Sacramento, Calif. – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Monday night in East Sacramento.

The 10:12 p.m. accident occurred in the area of Folsom Boulevard and Norcade Circle, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The officers who responded to the incident found a pedestrian in the lanes after being struck by a car, possibly a dark-colored Ford Escort.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.
