The fatal collision was reported around 5:55 a.m. on October 26 on Lakeville Highway just south of Old Lakeville Road No. 3.

Petaluma, CA – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured Sunday morning in a head-on collision near Petaluma, according to the CHP.
The fatal collision was reported around 5:55 a.m. on October 26 on Lakeville Highway just south of Old Lakeville Road No. 3.
CHP said a Ford Mustang was traveling southbound and was attempting to illegally pass a Toyota Highlander. It crossed the double yellow lines and crashed head-on into a northbound Honda HR-V. The Toyota was struck on its left side, and it spun off the highway.
A passenger in the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The Honda driver was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The Mustang also sustained serious injuries. They were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
No one in the Toyota sustained injuries in the accident.
The accident closed Lakeville Highway for more than four hours.
