Mesa, AZ – Two 18-Year-Old Women Killed After Being Struck by Multiple Vehicles at Center and Inglewood Streets

Mesa, AZ – Two 18-year-old women died early Sunday after being struck by multiple vehicles while crossing Center Street in Mesa, according to the Mesa Police Department.

The collision occurred around 1 a.m. near Center and Inglewood streets, south of McKellips Road. Police said rainy and dark conditions affected visibility at the time of the incident.

Police said the women were crossing Center Street when a vehicle struck them. The driver pulled over and attempted to warn approaching motorists, but a second and a third vehicle then drove through the scene, striking at least one of the pedestrians.

One woman died at the scene, while the other was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died. Both victims were 18 years old, but their identities have not yet been released.

Two of the three drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. Police are working to identify the possible third vehicle, which was described as a dark-colored sedan. Investigators do not believe speed or impairment contributed to the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the suspected third vehicle is urged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.

The investigation remains ongoing.
