El Sobrante, CA – A pedestrian was killed Thursday evening after being struck by a pickup truck at an intersection in El Sobrante, according to California Highway Patrol incident logs.
The fatal collision was reported at approximately 8:02 p.m. at San Pablo Dam Road and Hillcrest Road.
CHP said a red Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck struck a pedestrian. The circumstances surrounding the collision and the identity of the pedestrian have not been released.
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the scene and blocked the intersection as emergency crews handled the incident.
The crash drew a large crowd and prompted concerns about vehicles speeding through the area, according to a CHP update requesting assistance from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
