Yolo County, CA – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night near an intersection in Zamora, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to CHP, a black Dodge Ram 1500 struck a pedestrian in the roadway under unclear circumstances.
The pedestrian died from injuries suffered in the crash. A coroner representative was dispatched to the scene following the fatal collision.
Yolo County Animal Control also responded to the scene for a dog. It was unclear if the animal was involved in the crash and if it was hurt.
The truck was towed away with leaking transmission fluid.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
