Garden Grove, CA – A 69-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Garden Grove late Friday night, according to the Garden Grove PD.
The collision occurred around 11:16 p.m. on October 23, 2026, at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Palm Avenue.
According to the police, a witness reported that a white 2014 Cadillac SRX had struck a woman and fled the scene.
After calling 911, the witness followed the Cadillac until Garden Grove officers pulled it over.
Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded and transported the woman to UCI Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The woman, who was unresponsive when the fire crews arrived, was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Her identity has not been released.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. His identity was not immediately made public. Investigators believe impairment may have contributed to the crash, although authorities did not specify whether alcohol or drugs were suspected.
The crash remains under investigation.
