The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. on October 9, 2026, on Hesperia Road, north of Winona Street.
Victorville, CA – A 32-year-old Apple Valley man was killed early Friday after his Jeep Compass collided with a semi-truck on Hesperia Road in Victorville, authorities said.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as Josue Z. Chavez Salas.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. on October 9, 2026, on Hesperia Road, north of Winona Street.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Salas was driving north when his Jeep entered the southbound lanes and collided with a Freightliner semi-truck.
Josue Salas was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Deputies said the truck driver was not hurt.
Authorities believe Salas may have been driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
Hesperia Road was closed between Winona Street and Ottawa Street for several hours as authorities handled the scene.
The Victorville Sheriff’s Station Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
