Galt, CA – One person was killed in a crash between a vehicle and a big rig in Galt on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 4:10 a.m. September 29, authorities responded to reports of a collision at 12916 Stockton Boulevard near Highway 99.
Preliminary reports indicate that a car was traveling southbound in the far left lane when it crashed into a truck in front of it.
The car then drifted across lanes and off the right shoulder. The car ended up on the frontage road, where it was hit by a big rig.
The impact caused the car and the big rig to burst into flames.
According to the CHP, the driver of the car was killed in the crash.
The operator of the big rig was not injured in the incident.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The California Highway Patrol is working to determine the cause of the accident.
