Cameron Park, CA – 78-Year-Old Woman Injured After Car Crashes into Hair Salon at Burke Junction
Cameron Park, CA – A 78-year-old woman was injured Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a hair salon at a shopping center in Cameron Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. at the Burke Junction shopping center on Coach Lane, where a vehicle drove into Studio A2 Hair Salon.
Investigators said a 90-year-old driver crashed into the building, with the vehicle traveling completely inside the salon. The woman who was inside the business was struck during the collision.
The 78-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital with suspected minor injuries. The 90-year-old driver was not injured.
The Cameron Park Fire Department, part of Cal Fire’s Amador-El Dorado Unit, responded to the scene and evacuated occupants from the building. Firefighters and assisting agencies also evaluated the structure and addressed potential hazards.
The crash caused significant damage to the hair salon after the vehicle became lodged inside the business. No additional injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
