Yuma, AZ – One person was killed Thursday evening in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Yuma, according to the Yuma Police Department.
The crash happened at approximately 5:41 p.m. Sept. 10 at the intersection of South Frontage Road and South Avenue 10E. The collision involved a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle.
According to the initial investigation, a white 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was attempting to make a left turn from South Avenue 10E onto South Frontage Road when it collided with a silver 2013 Honda Accord.
The driver of the Accord, a 43-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where he died. The driver of the Silverado, a 55-year-old man, was not injured.
Police said neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
The fatal crash remains under active investigation by the Yuma Police Department.
