Lake Forest, CA. – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Portola Parkway and Market Place

Lake Forest, CA. – An 83-year-old man died after being struck by a car in Lake Forest on Thursday night.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 8 p.m. in the area of Portola Parkway and Market Place.

A pedestrian was struck by a car operated by a suspected drunk driver.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found the victim on the ground with severe injuries.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The man was not immediately identified.

The driver of the vehicle, 48-year-old Sean Michael Kooklin, of Lake Forest, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
