Phoenix, AZ – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in north Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

At around 4 a.m. September 5, authorities responded to reports of a collision near 33rd Drive and Deer Valley Road.

The pedestrian was reportedly walking across the street outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle.

The victim was declared deceased at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of the next-of-kin.

The involved driver stayed at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department.
