Big River, CA – Four people were seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 62 near Parker Dam Road in Big River Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. on the 12400 block of eastbound Highway 62, southbound at Parker Dam Road.
The CHP incident log indicates that two vehicles were involved. One vehicle became fully engulfed in flames after the crash, blocking the eastbound lanes.
There were five people in one of the vehicles, and three of them suffered major injuries. An occupant in the second vehicle also suffered major injuries.
CHP officials did not provide the names or ages of those injured. The authorities did not state the circumstances that led to the collision.
Two tow trucks were requested for the wrecked vehicles.
The collision initially blocked the eastbound lanes of Highway 62. Both lanes were reopened by approximately 12:35 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation
