According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the accident was reported around 5 a.m. on September 4, 2026, at Avenue 54 and Tyler Street.

Coachella, CA – 55-year-old Salvador Olivas of Thermal died in a motorcycle collision that happened Friday morning at an intersection in Coachella.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the accident was reported around 5 a.m. on September 4, 2026, at Avenue 54 and Tyler Street.

Deputies responded to the area after they received reports about a motorcycle versus car accident.

The deputies found Olivas in the roadway and provided life-saving measures before paramedics arrived. The motorcyclist was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, where he later died.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities do not believe drugs and/or alcohol contributed to the crash, but an investigation is ongoing.
