While this ranking suggests an average safety profile, the city faces specific risks in nighttime collisions and DUI-related incidents, where it has historically ranked in the more hazardous top 30% of its peer group. These factors are compounded by the high volume of seasonal traffic associated with the Coachella Valley’s major festival circuits.
