According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Grapefruit Boulevard south of 54th Avenue.
Coachella, CA. – 50-year-old Jorge Guillen of Coachella died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the city, the Riverside County Sheriff's Coroner's Office reported.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Grapefruit Boulevard south of 54th Avenue.
A black GMC Terrain hit Guillen and fled the scene.
The pedestrian was left lying on the right dirt shoulder.
Paramedics responded and transported Guillen to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, where he died from his injuries.
Police officers are searching for the suspect driver.
