Jackson County, OR – Two drivers were seriously injured after a high-speed head-on crash in rural Medford Saturday night, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation found that a 34-year-old woman was driving a 2025 Toyota RAV4 at a high rate of speed when she crossed into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons and struck a 2009 Toyota Highlander head-on.
Both drivers suffered serious injuries and became trapped inside their vehicles. Medford Fire crews extricated both patients, who were then transported by Mercy Flights to a local hospital. The 34-year-old woman was arrested for DUII.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said a trauma blood draw showed the woman had a blood alcohol content of .20%, which is two and a half times the legal limit.
Due to the severity of the collision, the Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
The Jackson County head-on crash remains under investigation.
