Simi Valley, CA – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene Monday afternoon in Simi Valley, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.
The fatal crash happened at approximately 4:15 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven located in the 1300 block of Erringer Road, police said.
Police said a vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled. The adult pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members.
As per the police, the vehicle was later found abandoned and the suspect, 40-year-old Abel Alvaro of Simi Valley, was arrested in connection with the fatal hit-and-run.
Alvaro was booked into the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
