Benson, AZ — Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Benson early Sunday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision occurred Sunday, August 16, 2026, near milepost 300 on Interstate 10. Arizona DPS responded to the crash involving three vehicles.
According to DPS, 26-year-old Hunter Susan Milo Barrows of Vail was driving eastbound on I-10 when she lost control of her vehicle. The car crossed the median and sideswiped a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction before becoming lodged underneath the trailer of a semi-truck.
Barrows was traveling with 25-year-old Luciano L. Johnson of Rio Rico. Both Barrows and Johnson were pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries to occupants of the other vehicles were reported in the information provided.
The cause of Barrows losing control of the vehicle was not immediately released. No arrests were reported.
The crash involved extensive damage to the vehicles and required an emergency response along Interstate 10 near Benson.
