Lane County, OR – An 18-year-old Dallas woman was killed, and a 74-year-old Eugene man suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 58 in Lane County, according to Oregon State Police.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 5:24 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, on Highway 58 near Rattlesnake Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, Leilani Kana’i Barto, 18, of Dallas, was driving a gray Mazda 3 sedan eastbound when she attempted to pass the traffic. The Mazda collided head-on with a westbound silver Toyota Highlander operated by 74-year-old Arthur Allen Corliss of Eugene.

The Toyota was subsequently struck by a westbound Kenworth semi-truck and trailer operated by 38-year-old Anthony Richard Luna of Sutherlin.

Barto was pronounced dead at the scene. Corliss was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Luna was reportedly not injured in the crash.

Authorities said speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision.

Highway 58 was impacted for approximately four hours while authorities conducted the on-scene investigation.

Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire & Rescue, the Eugene Police Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with the investigation.
