Preliminary reports indicate that a semi-truck was heading south on SR 99 when it was hit by a motorcyclist merging onto the highway from 31st Avenue West

Lynnwood, WA – Authorities have identified a motorcycle rider who was killed in a crash involving a big rig in Lynnwood on Thursday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Karen Kim, 38, of Lynnwood, was killed in the collision that happened on State Route 99 near 31st Avenue West just after 5 a.m. July 30.
Preliminary reports indicate that a semi-truck was heading south on SR 99 when it was hit by a motorcyclist merging onto the highway from 31st Avenue West.
The rider, identified as Kim, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck, Puneet Singh, 43, of Everett, was contacted by the authorities.
The crash led to the closure of State Route 99 near State Route 525 as authorities conducted an investigation into the crash.
The investigation by the Washington State Patrol is still ongoing.
