McFarland, CA – Two people were ejected from their vehicle in a major injury collision involving a big rig that happened Friday morning on Highway 99 in McFarland.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the wreck took place around 5:10 a.m. on July 3, 2026, in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 at Pond Road.
A yellow Jeep and a blue semi-truck with a box trailer were involved in the collision.
The Jeep possibly spun out after the first impact and landed in the center divider. Two male occupants of the Jeep were ejected from the car.
The big rig was reportedly speeding and swerving prior to the crash.
At least one person suffered severe injuries in the accident. Firefighters responded to the scene and requested an air ambulance to respond and airlift the victim. All lanes of the highway were closed to allow the helicopter to land.
The lanes were reopened around 7 a.m.
CHP is investigating the collision.
