Fresno, CA – The man who was hit and killed by a pickup truck while attempting to cross Highway 41 in Fresno Wednesday afternoon has been identified as 48-year-old Albert Gomez from Woodlake.
According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, Gomez died at the scene of the crash on northbound Highway 41 near the Divisadero Street exit.

Fresno, CA – A man attempting to cross Highway 41 in downtown Fresno Wednesday afternoon died after he was struck by a pickup truck, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to CHP, the crash was reported around 5 p.m. on July 1, 2026, on northbound Highway 41 near the Divisadero Street exit.
Reportedly, the man tried to run east from the center median onto the highway and was hit by a Dodge pickup truck traveling northbound.
The man died at the scene of the crash.
The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
