Redlands, CA – Virginia Yglesias has been identified as the 38-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle Thursday night near an intersection in Redlands, the Redlands Police Department reported.

The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on June 25, at Orange Street and Pioneer Avenue.

Police said the Redlands woman was walking south on Orange Street when she was hit by a utility trailer being pulled by a pickup truck.

The 58-year-old man driving the pickup truck told authorities that he did not see the pedestrian but felt an impact and pulled over on Pioneer Avenue. When he inspected the vehicle, he saw blood on the trailer and called 911.

Yglesias was pronounced dead at the scene by Redlands Fire Department paramedics.

The driver did not show any signs of impairment.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed or have information about the crash to contact the police.
