The San Diego Police Department said the crash happened at about 9:15 p.m. on June 19, 2026, in the 2200 block of Iris Avenue.
San Diego, CA – A man who was critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash in San Diego on Friday night has been identified by authorities.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Hector Manuel Herrera Jr., 50, of San Diego.
The San Diego Police Department said multiple vehicles collided at about 9:15 p.m. on June 19, 2026, in the 2200 block of Iris Avenue.
The police did not state the manner in which the deadly collision occurred or the number of vehicles involved.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported one of the involved parties, later identified as Herrera Jr., to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Herrera was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:54 p.m. Friday.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash.
