Irwindale, CA – The authorities have released the name of a woman who was killed in a crash that left 32 other people injured on I-21o in Irwindale on Saturday morning.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office identified the deceased woman as 58-year-old Christina King.
The deadly crash happened when a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia traveling eastbound on the 210, east of Interstate 605, made a sudden turn into the center divider. Authorities said a 2015 Ford Transit was traveling westbound in the HOV lane, and directly behind it was a 2018 Ford Transit, also heading westbound. The 2015 Ford Transit struck the front right portion of the Freightliner, while the 2018 Ford Transit crashed into the right side of the trailer attached to the Freightliner. A westbound  2024 Honda Prologue collided with debris resulting from the wreck.
Christina King was operating the 2015 transit at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in King’s vehicle suffered major injuries. A total of 32 people were injured in the crash, and eight of the patients were hospitalized.

Irwindale, CA – A woman was killed and at least 32 other people were injured, including two who suffered critical injuries, in a major multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 210 in Irwindale on Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:55 a.m. on westbound Interstate 210 near the Irwindale Avenue on-ramp.
Preliminary investigation indicates a red semi-truck was traveling on eastbound Interstate 210 when it crossed the center divider and broke through the median barrier into the westbound lanes. The semi then jackknifed across multiple lanes of traffic and collided with at least two vehicles.
A woman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. At least 32 other people were injured in the crash. Two of the patients suffered critical injuries. Emergency personnel transported at least seven patients, including six juveniles, to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment. The other injured parties declined transportation. The identities of those involved have not been released.
California Highway Patrol officers, Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, Irwindale Police officers, Caltrans crews, and other emergency responders rushed to the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office was also called to investigate the fatality. Tow crews were later dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles, including the semi-truck and a Ford Transit van.
The crash caused severe traffic disruptions throughout the area. All westbound lanes of Interstate 210 were temporarily closed at Irwindale Avenue, while portions of the eastbound freeway were also blocked due to guardrail damage and wreckage. Traffic was diverted off the freeway for several hours as emergency crews treated victims and investigators processed the scene. Lanes gradually reopened throughout the afternoon.
