Portland, OR – One person was injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened on I-84 in Portland on Thursday morning, the Portland Fire and Rescue reported.
The wreck happened at around 10:35 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-84, near the 148th Avenue exit, and temporarily shut down the eastbound lanes.
Initial reports indicate that several vehicles were involved in the collision, whose cause was yet to be determined. One person was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated.
Firefighters responded to the scene and attended to three individuals who were believed to have been injured.
The extricated patient was taken to a hospital with significant injuries that were not suspected to be life-threatening. Two other parties declined to be transported to the hospital.
According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, all eastbound lanes of I-84 were briefly shut down as law enforcement and firefighters worked at the scene.
No additional information on the incident was available. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
