Preliminary reports indicate that a person was crossing the street mid-block when they were hit by a vehicle passing through the area

Phoenix, AZ – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle near an intersection in Phoenix early Wednesday morning.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident was reported at around 4:30 a.m. June 10, in the area of 64th Drive and Indian School Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that a person was crossing the street mid-block when they were hit by a vehicle passing through the area. The exact circumstances of the collision were under investigation by the Phoenix police.
Authorities arrived shortly after and found an injured person at the scene. The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.
The driver of the involved vehicle was also at the scene and did not report any injuries as a result of the accident.
According to Phoenix police, impairment was not suspected to have factored in the accident and no arrests were made.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation and additional details are expected to be released.
