San Marcos, CA – At least one person sustained major injuries following a two-vehicle collision on State Route 78 in San Marcos Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 10:59 a.m. on June 6, 2026, on eastbound State Route 78 near the San Marcos Boulevard off-ramp.
CHP logs indicate the collision involved a blue Toyota Corolla and a gray Honda sedan. One vehicle reportedly came to rest in the center divider while the other blocked the slow lane following the crash. Authorities later confirmed the incident involved two vehicles.
At least one person suffered moderate to major injuries in the collision. Information regarding the total number of injured victims or any possible arrests was not immediately available.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles, and authorities worked to reopen lanes as investigators processed the crash scene.
