Bakersfield, CA – 66-year-old Clinton Ron Loveless has been identified as the man who died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorized bicycle in Bakersfield on Wednesday evening.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident occurred around 8 p.m. on June 3, at Brundage Lane and A Street.

Bakersfield police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash and found the man with severe injuries.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police officers determined that Clinton was riding a motorized bicycle on Brundage Lane when he entered the intersection against a red light.

At the same time, a woman was driving a car southbound on A Street when she struck the man who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Speed, drugs, and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
