Despite life-saving efforts, the Santa Ana man succumbed to injuries at the scene
Santa Ana, CA. – Alberto Benitez Garcia ,37, has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a car at an intersection in Santa Ana on Tuesday morning.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the pedestrian accident was reported around 4:15 a.m. at the intersection of Bristol Street and Wilshire Avenue.
Garcia was reportedly crossing a street at the intersection and was struck by a car traveling southbound.
Officers along with paramedics responded to the scene and located the man down on the ground with significant injuries.
Despite life-saving efforts, the Santa Ana man succumbed to injuries at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene, and cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities say there were no indications that the driver was impaired.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
