Fresno County, CA – The mechanic who died after being crushed by a vehicle at a trucking repair yard in Fresno County on Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
Gurpreet Singh, 21, of Fresno, died in the incident that took place shortly after 4 p.m. April 28, in the area of Belmont and Lafayette Avenues, the sheriff’s officials reported.
According to deputies, Singh was trying to hook up a trailer onto a semi-truck when he was pinned and crushed between the truck and the trailer.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and attempted life-saving measures on Singh.
Despite efforts by the medics, Singh was declared dead at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
Officials with the Cal-OSHA were notified about the incident and are working establish its cause.
