The fatal collision occurred on Colfax Avenue at an intersection in North Hollywood at approximately 2:25 a.m. on Sunday.

North Hollywood, CA – Two pedestrians were killed, and at least three other people were injured in a crash involving a suspected DUI Driver on Colfax Avenue in North Hollywood early Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred on Colfax Avenue at an intersection in North Hollywood at approximately 2:25 a.m. on Sunday.
Authorities reported that a gray Acura driven by Vidal Cruz Jr. was traveling northbound on Colfax Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck a man in his 30s and a woman in her 50s who had just exited a parked white Toyota Camry. The Acura also crashed into the Camry and continued into a private driveway, and struck several unoccupied parked vehicles.
Three people were still inside the Camry at the time of the crash.
The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The female pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The three occupants inside the Camry suffered minor injuries. The names of the two deceased pedestrians have not been released pending next of kin notification.
Cruz, who was the sole occupant of the Acura, was arrested after investigators determined that he was driving at an unsafe speed and under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, provided medical assistance, and transported the injured to a nearby hospital.
Cruz was later booked on suspicion of two counts of murder at the Van Nuys Jail, with bail set at $4 million.
The incident remains under investigation.
