San Diego, CA – A motorcyclist was killed following a collision involving an SUV on Interstate 805 in San Diego early Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 30-year-old Rhaymon Edward Baugh of San Diego.

The fatal crash occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 805, just south of Murray Ridge Road, at approximately 4:59 a.m. on April 2, 2026.

According to preliminary details, Baugh was riding a motorcycle when it collided with an SUV for reasons still under investigation.

Baugh sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:23 a.m.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined; however, authorities confirmed that Baugh died from multiple blunt force injuries to the trunk and extremities.

Emergency responders, including paramedics, arrived at the scene shortly after the collision and attempted life-saving measures before pronouncing the motorcyclist deceased.

The crash led to disruptions in the northbound lanes of Interstate 805 as crews investigated and cleared the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol
