Marin County, CA – Two people were seriously injured in a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car at an intersection in Lucas Valley-Marinwood on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at around 12:57 p.m. on March 29, 2026, at Mount McKinley and Lucas Valley Roads.
According to CHP, a tan Toyota Prius and a motorcycle were involved in a T-bone crash.
The rider, identified only as a white male adult, and his passenger were seriously injured in the crash. One of the patients had major injuries to the head. Paramedics transported both patients to Marin Health.
Both the motorcycle and the car had damage and were towed away from the scene.
No further details regarding the mishap were available.
An investigation is underway.
In 2023, Marin County reported 89 motorcycle‑involved victims (fatal and injury) in traffic collisions, meaning riders were involved in a notable share of the county’s serious crashes that year. While Marin’s total crash counts are lower than those of larger urban counties, motorcycles still represent a significant portion of vulnerable road user injuries statewide. For context, motorcycles made up about 7 % of overall collisions in the county but accounted for around 20 % of fatal and serious injury outcomes in a recent county traffic safety report, underscoring how risky motorcycle crashes tend to be relative to other road users.
