Fairfield, CA – A fatal collision between a vehicle and a motorcyclist claimed the life of the rider on Saturday night in Fairfield, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
The collision took place on Green Valley Road near West Lake Drive shortly after 11 p.m. March 21.
According to the investigators, a vehicle collided with a motorcyclist in the area, leading to the closure of Green Valley Road between West Lake Drive and Reservoir Lane for several hours.
Authorities were still working to determine exactly how the two collided. At this time, it’s still unclear whether speed or impairment played any role.
The Fairfield Police Department and crews from the Fairfield Fire Department responded to the scene of the collision.
The motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene. The other motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The Fairfield Police Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the incident to determine the factors of the collision.
