Westmont, CA – At least one person was injured in a multi-vehicle collision that took place in the Westmont area on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. March 22, near West Century Boulevard and South Normandie Avenue.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a blue sedan failed to stop for a red light and was struck by a Tesla at the intersection. The sedan was then hit by a red Chevrolet Camaro and the impact sent the sedan crashing into a doughnut shop.
The CHP and firefighters immediately responded to the site of the collision and attended to the parties involved. One person was trapped in the wreckage following the crash.
Medics treated at least one person at the scene. It’s unclear whether the patient was transfered to a hospital for further treatment.
There were no arrests in connection with the incident. At this time, authorities have not specified whether impairment or speed factored in the incident.
The crash remained under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
