Flagler Beach, FL – A woman was killed and a man injured in a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle near Flagler Beach on Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck took place shortly after 4 p.m. on March 5, on High Bridge Road near Walter Boardman Lane.

According to the FHP, a 64-year-old Wisconsin man was riding a Harley-Davidson Heritage motorcycle westbound on High Bridge Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and drifted into the eastbound side. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the trailer being pulled by an oncoming Toyota Tacoma.

Both motorcyclists were ejected from the motorcycle by the impact of the accident.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. His passenger, a 57-year-old Wisconsin woman, was declared deceased at the scene.

The woman’s name was not immediately released. Authorities reported that the riders were not wearing their helmets at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Tacoma, a 65-year-old Palm Coast man, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently working to find out the contributing factors to the crash.
