Phoenix, AZ – A man and a woman were transported to a hospital after being involved in a motorcycle accident in north Phoenix on Wednesday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
At around 7:20 p.m. March 4, authorities responded to the scene of a collision near Ninth Street and Bell Road.
According to a preliminary investigation, a driver went through a red light at the intersection and collided with a motorcycle carrying two people. The impact of the collision ejected both riders from the motorcycle.
Personnel from the Phoenix Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after and assessed the involved parties.
A man and woman, who were ejected from the motorcycle, were both transported to a hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed in the crash and stayed at the scene.
Roads were shut down in the area for hours as authorities worked at the scene.
The Phoenix Police Department officers who responded to the incident are still trying to determine what exactly led up to the collision.
