Preliminary reports indicate that a teenage boy was riding a dirt bike southbound on N. Main Street when he collided with a semi-truck that was trying to make a turn onto Yosemite Avenue

Manteca, CA – A teen was hospitalized after getting pinned underneath a semi-truck following a crash in Manteca on Tuesday evening, according to the Manteca Police Department.
Authorities say shortly before 5 p.m. February 4, a call was made concerning a big rig collision in the area of N. Main Street and Yosemite Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicate that a teenage boy was riding a dirt bike southbound on N. Main Street when he collided with a semi-truck that was trying to make a turn onto Yosemite Avenue.
The teen was pinned underneath the big rig after the crash and had to be helped out by emergency crews.
Medical personnel evaluated the teen and determined that he had sustained serious injuries to one of his legs. The teen was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
The big rig driver stayed at the scene after the accident. The report by the Manteca police did not specify whether impairment or speed played any role in the crash.
Police said the dirt bike driven by the teen was an off-road motorcycle that was not registered for travel on the regular streets.
No further details on the crash have been released. At this time, Manteca police are investigating to determine the exact cause of the accident.
