Menifee, CA – A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Domenigoni Parkway Sunday night, according to the Menifee Police Department.
The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified the deceased rider as John Scherer, a 69-year-old man from Winchester.
The fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Domenigoni Parkway just east of Laguna Vista Drive at approximately 8:18 p.m. on December 21, 2025.
Authorities said Scherer was riding a motorcycle westbound on Domenigoni when he lost control of the bike and struck the center divider. The impact caused Scherer to be ejected onto the roadway along the four-lane corridor. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Scherer suffered critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at about 8:52 p.m. No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
Investigators said it is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the crash, and the cause remains under investigation.
Menifee police officers responded to the scene after witnesses called 911. Emergency medical personnel arrived within minutes and provided aid before transporting the injured motorcyclist to the hospital.
The crash occurred on a busy stretch of Domenigoni Parkway and temporarily impacted traffic in the area as authorities conducted the on-scene investigation.
The Menifee crash remains under investigation as police work to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
