Scripps Ranch, CA.- Several people were injured in a car collision in the Scripps Ranch area on Monday evening, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
At around 5:41 p.m., firefighters and paramedics responded to reports of a crash near the intersection of Spring Canyon Road and Blue Cypress Drive.
Authorities said two cars collided and one of them was fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived.
Four patients were transported to a hospital for treatment.
One of the patients was in critical condition.
A section of Spring Canyon Road was shut down as crews worked at the scene.
Authorities are investigating to find out what led up to the collision.
