Mariana Flores Killed in Bakersfield Hit-And-Run Accident on Mount Vernon Avenue

Bakersfield, CA.- The woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Bakersfield in August has been identified as Mariana Cervantes Flores, 65, of Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

The accident took place on Mount Vernon Avenue and Oregon Street at about 1:46 a.m. August 3.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Flores was walking in the No. 2 southbound lane of Mount Vernon Avenue, outside of a marked crosswalk, when a white pickup truck struck her.

The truck driver fled the scene after the crash and has not yet been found.

Flores was pronounced deceased at the scene.
