Yamhill County, OR – A person was killed Monday evening in a pedestrian accident in Yamhill County, according to the Oregon State Police.

The deadly accident happened around 5:11 p.m. on October 13 on Highway 240 near milepost 10.

Police said a westbound Toyota Rav4 driven by Holly Mclain, 47, of Cornelius, struck Larry Joseph Mervin Jacobs, 66, of Newberg, who was in the roadway.

Jacobs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mclain was uninjured in the accident.

The accident closed the highway for about three hours.

The police are investigating the accident.
